How this stage was measured
The course comes from ASO's own published geometry, the same data that draws the stage map on letour.fr, not from a route planner joining towns. VeloWorkout measures 144.7 km against the 168.5 km the roadbook prints, and 1,528 m of climbing against a published 2,500 m. Elevation is sampled from the Terrarium elevation model and smoothed, so digital-model noise is not counted as climbing.
The stage finishes on repeated laps of the Montjuic circuit, so ASO publishes its geometry as hundreds of overlapping fragments that cannot be walked by kilometre. These waypoints were geocoded from the official roadbook and then verified to sit on official route geometry (all within 500 m).
